I am both excited and scared to see this challenge. Scared to say, "I'm going to do it!" Scared that I won't. Scared that I'll fail if I do. Scared that the days "will pass me by," as if I have no control over how I spend my time, and I'm helpless to keep it from disappearing without being used to meet my own desires in the only life I get.
Because that's what's happening. I want to create art, but most of the time, I don't. Next thing I know, another year has passed by with little work to show for it. When I do finish a drawing or painting, I sometimes experience such an intense and "strange" emotional release of sadness combined with happiness regarding all the creativity and art work that I've been keeping pent up inside and out of existence.
I'm also afraid of using a challenge to "force" myself to do work. I don't want to "have" to create something every day. At the same time, not "having to" is a recipe for "not doing." Faces are my favorite thing to draw and paint. I'm doing it!
*Jumps of the cliff.*
What is 29 Faces? There are 31 days in May to create 29 faces, to be posted on one's blog each day. Incomplete faces are okay, but a blog post of some kind showing the work done for the day is the "rule." Any mediums, size, techniques, and forms are okay. Details here and here. Watch this blog for faces!
